WHY?

A few reasons. The first being things just came together, I can’t elaborate for certain super top secret ninja reasons. Second, it was time for me to move on. I love Rethink and have put countless nights, weekends, and free time into it. I have grown a lot, met some awesome artists and found an area of my life I enjoy pursuing. Lastly, we were attacked by Dinosaurs and they ate our offices, so that might have played into it as well…

WHAT NOW?

Since the decision to close came along rather quick, I haven’t exactly determined what is next. It may be another clothing company it may not be. It might be me pursuing some personal growth in e-commerce. It may also be me learning the fine art of finally relaxing and sleeping normal hours and being a good Fiance.

The list of people to thank is long. From all my friends, customers, artists, and bloggers. Everyone played a strong role in the making Rethink a success. I mean Rethink was featured on everything from MTV to Businessweek and some of the webs top blogs, engadget, uncrate, not cot, and some other awesome sites.

FINAL THOUGHTS!

Rethink was awesome. Shit, when it first started I was an idiot. I learned a ton, grew a lot and made a decently successful clothing company from nothing. I have had a ton of fun along the way. In the end I am happy I get to walk away on my terms. I just hope the college artists I used have another way to make beer money…

For those of you who don’t know, Kickstarter is a site that helps launch projects with community support. The project Rethink is pursuing is printing 3 shirts from one of my favorite artists, Zack Davenport! FINALLY! I am so happy to see one of my favorite shirts back in stock. Even better this shirt is a limited release as part of my new Super Senior Series. Since Rethink only uses college artists, one thing it does is help start careers. I thought I would help you even more. You may be an awesome graphic artist and the cock of the art walk, but if your email pitching yourself to me sucks, no dice. I get quite a few emails a day looking from people looking to be the next artist for Rethink. I get a good majority of them are horrible, some are awesome and some are mediocre. People send me some really bad emails and I don’t ever do anything with them solely because I don’t have the time to hunt down their portfolio or they show lack of knowledge in my brand. Beyond those reasons my first impression of you as a worker is in that email and if you show that your not going to go that extra mile right away that’s a bad first impression. So, if you want to learn how to approach companies and land those design jobs listen up!

Those are just some easy and simple tips to get my attention and any small business for that matter. I’m not saying these will get you chosen for work that’s your art and work ethics job, but you will position yourself above the people who send shit emails. I will end with a simple why listen to this guy statement. Running a clothing line for 4 years now, working with multiple artists, choosing these artists, dealing with multiple emails per day about artists and most importantly I am the type of person who you will be emailing.

Well, the time for a new shirt has finally arrived!

One of Rethink’s most printed artists is back at it. Grant Tucker who did the super soaker, zapper, gnome and bomb drop has once again brought us back to childhood awesomeness. Seriously, Grant makes your childhood so stylish. I loved my old school nintendo and since the cartridge held the power, it held a special place in my world. Oh bringer of fun and disappointment when you were so dirty. And no I will not make a blow me joke.

I thought for once people should see my head in the photos…well at least here on the blog. Enjoy my manly winter beard, but do not let it distract you from the shirt. Click on the pics to be taken to the store.
